I appreciated your conversation with Geoffrey West. At one point there was a point made about how cities have included in them the social connectedness of people, and how that makes them somewhat different in scaling. I was wondering how the microbial communities that “socialize” in, on, and around us, and interact with others’ microbial communities are effected by scaling, and are we a type of “city” for those communities?
