Smart.  I had a good tequila last night in McAllen at Salome’s, but I can’t remember the name.

My family arrived home today from a trip to the Gold Country (the former Gold Rush region in the Sierra Nevada foothills), and specifically the frozen-in-time town of Columbia, which was turned into a state park in 1945 to preserve its old time charm.  One of Columbia’s signature traits is the soft drink sarsparilla, which is a Spanish word which has been Anglicized to be pronounced without the “R”, and it is similar to the flavor of Root Beer.  We bought a bottle of sarsparilla extract and made the syrup at home, then mixed in soda water to make the soft drink.  Of course I added rum to mine.

Drink more beer, it’s good for the planet!

I took your advice and opened a bottle of Anchor’s Special Christmas Ale from 2016.  Yep. . .

St. Arnold’s Christmas Ale is definitely worth a try. Had one tonight.

This morning at the gym I brought two bottles of egg nog for the boys: Old South (rum, brandy, bourbon) and Pennsylvania Dutch (rum, brandy, blended whiskey).  Sprinkled a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon on it, and bottoms up.  Nice day to work on triceps. Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Woodford Reserve Bourbon.  Good sippin’ whiskey on a Friday night.

Drank a bottle of Anchor’s Special Christmas Ale 2019, and for my taste it needs a couple years to settle the anger of its strong and bitter flavors and bring out its sweeter side.

I put a bottle from 2014 in the fridge for tomorrow.

Yeah, that bottle was good.  And as a bonus, I found stashed in a corner two magnums of the same beer.  Come over and help me drink them.

This weeks beer was Crux [BANISHED] Tough Love, pretty good and very strong at 11.5%.

A bottle of New Belgium’s Trippel Ale, a golden Belgian-style.  Not sure I’ll get it again.  I’m still hung up on La Fin Du Monde and Pranqster.

I not a fan of New Belgium, they make everything have a pilsner taste, and I’m not a bi pilsners fan.

Last week I had Sixth Orbit Hazy Plum IPA by Ecliptic Brewing, it was awesome! I hope Costco has more.
