Skipshot, I agree it doesn’t hold a candle to the original but somehow I think even Jimi would get a kick out of that creative, talented dudes stamp of light hearted fun on “foxy lady”.
These are always fun lists to make:

“Pressure Drop” by Toots and the Maytals is wonderful, but The Specials added their juju vibe (extra guitar riffs, fun-loving keyboard, increased tempo, and those drums!) to really make my butt shake involuntarily - https://youtu.be/IWweHBpscDU
SRV’s cover of Hendrix’s Voodoo Child is superior, IMHO.
Look what I found! Motörhead covering Bowie’s “Heroes.” I like the revised lyrics at the end, “And the shame was a divided city.” Rest in power, Lemmy. Stay funky, David.
(By the way, the dang computer recognized Motörhead and automatically added the umlaut. Somebody at Apple is a fan.)
I also like the breathy gravitas of Peter Gabriel’s cover of heroes:

I am on the fence with this cover of “Foxy Lady” by Jimi Hendrix: https://youtu.be/-IxHM3qsYW8
I dig the zip tie fret board on a 3-string whatchamahoozit.
Boy, was I wrong. I’ll take Jimi all day - https://youtu.be/zv97c3W6lw8

Good lad.
So I’m totally late to the party, but I’m having trouble deciding if Stevie improved The Beatles’ “We Can Work It Out.” - https://youtu.be/MkF_u-_mm0Q

Saw Chaka do it many years ago, she got something going there…
