I was a big Aerosmith fan as a kid, and never was turned on to rap, but. . . I’ve always liked Run-DMC’s version of “Walk This Way” better than the original, and I really like the original.

I feel the same about the DMC version, it has a tighter groove than the original.

Just like the Chillies version of Higher Ground which I quite like, it has much more energy.

Oh, yeah!  The Chilie’s version blows away Stevie’s.

Laibach - The Sound of Music

The footage is from their performance in North Korea, where they were the first Western rock group to ever perform in the DPRK.

Joan Jett’s cover of “Everyday People” comes pretty close to Sly’s original.

The Man Who Sold The World

That reminds me of Dave Grohl and his daughter, Violet, covering Adele’s “When We Were Young.”  I think she was either 12 or 13 at the time.  I’ve got another soft spot for this vid because the song was performed, apparently, in my hometown as a fund raiser for the Oakland Children’s Hospital.  That, and Dave Grohl needs to be designated a living national treasure.

This version of “Enter Sandman” by Metallica may not quite match the original, but Robert Fripp’s guitar shreds and his wife Toyah puts her heart and soul into the singing. There’s a couple of other reasons I like this version also.
