Is there still a place for non-professional posters at Project Reason?

...They don’t want to resort to banning people for their behavior.

No need for this.
Like I said in the OP.  Posting here is a form of entertainment.  I (and everyone else) are not obligated to respond or reply to anybody… nor is anybody obligated to respond or reply to me(us).  I only interact with members that I want to interact with. None of us have to respond to ANY particular post.  So I don’t.

Posting at Project Reason is a form of entertainment; at least it is for me.  I don’t make my living starting threads, responding to questions, or challenging other forum members.  The prolific production of threads, posts, and words from some members is impressive, perhaps overwhelming.  I would estimate that the ratio of alphanumeric characters they produce compared to my (and others) production is 100 to 1.  There is no thought, idea, story, or concept that the professional posters do not touch.    Is this good?

Is this an open forum?

I wonder if current trends continue, if posts from non-professionals such as me, might have decreasing relevance, as those who post here on a professional basis, relegate my/our comments to background noise.

Isn’t this an open forum?

You are a diplomat.

Not really. It’s just a persona.

So congrats! Everyone in this thread is in the top 0.1% !

No forum can allow itself to be 100% open. The odd rule or ruling has to be imposed, otherwise trolls would take over in a heartbeat.

Missed the point.

Does your 5-word question, repeated once, actually make a point? Granted, it might hint at a point, but only vaguely if at all.

Yes, it does.  No one, however, need respond.

And with that, we have a candidate for most passive-aggressive post of the year.

You could try some of that “critical thinking” stuff, but it doesn’t seem to work very well in some cases, I’ve noticed. Most of y’all are so white bread it’s actually quite humorous.

They are SPAM bots. The site doesn’t require CAPTCHA or any other human validation so auto account creation is simple.

Agreed.  I’d be surprised if there were many more than 300 total human users.
And of those, only a few handfuls post regularly.
