I will not deny an accusation of immaturity, but I just saw Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure for the first time in 20 years and it is still funny to me.  There is a song in it which got my attention for being a fun, rocking song, “Two Heads Are Better Than One” by Power Tool, and it is available only on YouTube, but the whole point of this post is that in the YouTube comments section someone posted some comic genius:

Oh my GOD do you hear it? do you? I hear COW BELL!!!!!?

(In case the comedy is lost on you:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN62KrzzVIU)

A sincere thanks for knocking Neil and Bruce and me off the home page.

I remember, some 45 years ago, when my bandmates insisted I get a cowbell so we could do Mississipi Queen. They would not do it until there was a cowbell. It turned into a gag. We’d be sitting at the table and Andy would start hitting the cowbell or a kitchen pot and we would have to jump up and start playing Mississipi Queen on anything handy by beat eight.

I love a good cowbell.

My good friend and drummer Mick used to put a little four beat injection in there at every opportunity.

I just found more cowbell.  Bachman Turner Overdrive’s “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” is all cowbell.

Should I re-name this The Cowbell Thread?

Good cowbell choice. Ear worm for the day I reckon.
