What an awesome idea. Although I googled Klein Bottle and by the third sentence I understood so little of what I just read that I farted and walked away. Still, I love the idea. Kudos Nhoj and Mart as you guys continue to moderate with competence and style.

Agreed!

That was a fine start. Patrons can be kind and understanding in The Klein Bottle. No rules against it.

I like the name of this thread, Nhoj. Before googling the term, I assumed it meant “small bottle.” But it didn’t sound grammatical to me, so I googled it and now see that a klein bottle is not necessarily small, but certainly mechanically interesting. As usual, you and Martin seem to be on to something.

I dunno.

I thought Thready McThread Face would have been a much better name.

This thread is for posters with full member status. Newbies and Junior Members must first post one hundred admirable examples of civility before joining the fray.

Damn you! You’re correct. I am so distracted today.

The whole point was to make a high bar for Joe to reach. I should just delete this crap as thread hijacking. Now what? Mart!

I was going to suggest that you could make an exception for those who reach some threshold of uncivil posts, however few or many civil posts they have contributed. That would of course be mandatory cantonment. But your way is probably less work for you.

Here’s another idea: maybe there’s a phrase-repetition checker available in the public domain; any post by an individual on a watch list that contains too many phrases identical to what that individual has previously posted could be automatically relegated to an archival dustbin chain-linked to the most recent similar post. There’s only so many times, for example, that it’s informative to read a quotation from the King James Version of the O.T., so a filter on repetitions of chapter, verse, and/or phrase could be quite helpful in removing repetitious noise.

And just what do you think will happen if somebody pisses inside of a Klein bottle?

It won’t be Klein anymore. We’ll have to wash it.

Yuk, and yuk yuk.

jdrnd is as lost as I am about half the things that go on.  He never knows what’s going on, either.  With him, I think he’s just too much of a literalist, a flat-lander.  For me, I’m just dumb.

Are the rules tilted in anyone’s favour or is the bottle just on an inKlein?

I noticed that when a person doesn’t agree with someone else’s point of view, the charge is “you don’t see in 3 dimensions like me”.
Perhaps I don’t see the global picture, then again what if it’s you who doesn’t see it.

How is one to know which one of us is the “flatlander”?

Living at higher altitudes is the key… if you are lower up as opposed to higher down, that’s when the real trouble starts, it’s simple enough.

I don’t know, cuz I’m too dumb. I’m from Texas, and the heat and humidity have affected my brain permanently.  Along with the whiskey.  Not even a NYC Jewish neurologist could help me. I’m hopeless.

But it doesn’t matter, cuz nhoj says we are all deluded, anyway, and sarcastic fingerhead says that all of our perceptions of reality are wrong, so I’m in good company.  I may be ignorant, but I’m blissfully ignorant.
