Islam, Burkas, and Belly Dancing - what’s going on here?  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belly_dance

Someone explained it this way:  it’s like in the West where many husbands and fathers enjoy going to strip clubs but would be outraged if their own wives and daughters performed like that.

(except in the West, many wives and daughters take belly dancing classes)

When I was studying Islam in sociology and anthropology back in the day, the deal was that all the strict moral codes were about public life—outside of closed doors—and that what went in inside closed doors was considered no one’s business but those there. I was taught that by a Middle Eastern native (Afghan I think—far from sure) who frequently visited family still living there.
