The season premier was OK. Not sure it lived up to the hype. Also a bit clumsey introducing the storyline about the horse boy getting killed. Maggie is a pretty brutal authority, as shown by her hanging that dude.
Yeah, this episode didn’t live up to the hype.
Agree, Maggie is getting hard. I can understand that in such a world they might be forced to be brutal in dealing with dangerous people, but at this point when they’re trying to build a society, they could at least have a semblance of a trial or something.
I think this episode was giving us bits and pieces to show that dissension is brewing in several corners, and to look out, battles to follow.
I like the romance with Carol and Ezekial. And seeing a bit more of the old Daryl.
And where did all the horses come from? There were a couple of previous episodes showing horses which didn’t end well for them.
The horses magically appeared. Also, did you recognize Ann, the Garbage Queen, with longer hair? Quite a transformation. She spoke in a full sentence once.
No, I didn’t recognize Ann. Can you tell me the scene?

She was with Rick and several others, with guns, inspecting something. That’s about all I remember.

Thanks. I probably mistook her for one of the Saviors, but will now keep a lookout for her with the new look.

She was in the Smithsonian exploration. I learned that her name is spelled “Anne”.

Thanks again, EN. I think now that you’ve told me how she looks different, I’ll recognize her in future.
Anne and the Preacher? Unlikely couple, but it’s a new world.

Yeah, it sure is. Forgot her earlier ‘attraction’ to Rick, I guess.
And that last scene with Negan ... Rick should start regretting not giving us what we waited to see all last season. Satan must die.

In a sense, Rick is too idealistic. At some point, you have to realize that a poisonous snake is a poisonous snake and just kill it. Sometimes idealism carries the seeds of its own destruction.
Next week is Rick’s final episode. Will Michone lash out or be a mother to Judith? Will Maggie kill Negan? What happens between the Saviors and Oceanside? Who will lead the group?

Yup, looks like it’s the end of Rick. Do you know how many more episodes there are?
I think Michonne will live on, as a mother to Judith, and perhaps she’s also pregnant as there was a hint about that in last week’s episode. It’d be good to see the end of Negan, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
In a couple of previous episodes they’ve shown a light in the sky (a helicopter?); I wonder if that will come up again before the end. Yeah, a lot of questions and many probably won’t get answered.
The scene with the dead walking off the bridge on fire was GREAT! Oh yeah , and Rick takes a helicopter ride. Pretty good episode overall.

Yeah, not bad. But I would’ve preferred that it was Rick’s final act of going out with fire and fury. Since it was advertised as ‘Rick’s last episode’, they may intend to leave us up in the air so to speak as to his fate. It looks like there’ll be three more episodes.
And I still yearn for vengeance on Negan; I didn’t buy into his pathetic act.

No, I expect that Negan was laughing after she left.
It’s too late. They waited too long. I’m now rooting for Negan. They’ve left me no choice.

What do you mean, LJ? No choice? How can that be?
