No, this topic isn’t for the studs here to brag about how awesome they are.

It’s about how awesome (sorry nonverbal) the word “fuck” is.

From HBO series, “The Wire”:    [WARNING - don’t play video at work]

From movie “In Bruges”:

Harry:  It’s a fairytale town, isn’t it? How’s a fairytale town not somebody’s fucking thing? How can all those canals and bridges and cobbled streets and those churches, all that beautiful fucking fairytale stuff, how can that not be somebody’s fucking thing, eh?
Ken:  What I think I meant to say was…
Harry:  Is the swans still there?
Ken:  Yeah, there’s swans ...
Harry:  How can fucking swans not fucking be somebody’s fucking thing, eh? How can that be?

Yes—it’s an ancient word with more variety of uses than any other word I know of. We’re apparently imbued with “fuck” variety akin to words an eskimo uses when discussing types of snow. And then some!

I should have included the following in the original post:

The Martian” by Andy Weir   (The very first lines of this book.)

LOG ENTRY:  SOL 6
    I’m pretty much fucked.
    That’s my considered opinion.
    Fucked.

It seems to me that there has been a significant increase in the use of the “F” word since the U.S. election.

Yes—the word does seem to carry a ton of emotion.

Agree ... I usually try to save it for when it’s really needed (but it sometimes slips out when I’m grumpy).

You’re the only one to comment on this thread, even though I used the ‘bad’ word you don’t like, i.e. awesome.  grin

Wonder how one would say “awesome” in the Inuit tongue… or fuck for that matter!?

Agree ... disappointing.  Although there may not be exact translations, they probably have equivalent words.  I guess one would have to ask an Inuk.
