Just saw Ghost in the Shell.

Special effects are spectacular.
Storyline… not so much
I rate it 6.5/10.
Scarlet J, always worth watching.

That’s not much of a recommendation.

What sort of stories do you like (in movies)?

I like science fiction.
I often find that if the critics don’t like it, I do.
The storyline of Ghost was hard to follow.
It WAS followable.

There were some descrepancies in presentation that were interesting.
Major (Scarlet J) and her partner speak English,
but their boss speaks Japanese with English subtitles.
Except for the Major’s Boss, all the characters understand Japanese, but speak in English.
The Boss Understands English but speaks in Japanese.

The special effects were out of this world.

What kind of movies do you like?

I’d give it a 7.  Its not the greatest flick ever but was very entertaining, storyline was pretty good to me..  I’d love to see a sequel!

Watch it if you haven’t seen the original.
Otherwise don’t.

Gosh, Jeff, I didn’t see this. I didn’t intend to be rude. Here is a pointlessly tardy response.

I don’t see many movies anymore and I haven’t been in a theater (as a patron) in twenty years.

I like stuff that is complex and multi-layered that might need to be seen more than once and takes years to digest. Everything else is tedious, obvious and forgettable.

Recent likes would be Cumberbatch’s War of the Roses thing, last year’s Zygon refugee story on Doctor Who, Hell on Wheels and some of that show about bugs eating brains in Washington DC.

Bond films on the big screen with the rig at full tilt are FUN. The recent ones were a pleasant surprise. I’ve always wanted to write one (with a difference). I’m a terribly annoying armchair-author.
