I’d love to hear a conversation between Sam Harris and an everyday—though intelligent—circuit-court judge, regarding human will and how free it may or may not be.

Bjorn Lomborg.  Details matter.  It is almost certainly wrong that climate change is an emergency that can only be addressed with trillions of dollars of changes.

Warren Buffett!  Money, politics, just general smartness.

Charles Munger, Warren Buffett’s life-partner.

Russ Roberts, @econtalker , an incredible economit who knows everything including how to do great interviews.

Jay Rosen. Amazed Sam hasn’t had him on yet. He is the premier critic and authority on what’s wrong with the ‘political press’ today and how *they* should proceed in the age of Trump and disinformation. Sam has been quite subdued on the responsibility the ‘political press’ has to adapt and try to solve this problem that isn’t going away anytime soon.

Relating to asymmetric polarization between the two political parties, his articles on his pressthink.org website are absolute must read. Start with the one below.

http://pressthink.org/2016/09/asymmetry-between-the-major-parties-fries-the-circuits-of-the-mainstream-press/

Maybe since Ezra Klein has been aware of this problem for a few years and talked about it before, Jay Rosen being in the same orbit, Sam doesn’t want enter this space. This of course says nothing that I am of the opinion Sam made more sense than Ezra on their shared podcast regarding Charles Murray. Anyway, I’d love to get Sam’s thoughts on this particular issue.

Douglas Hofstadter!

Just re-listened to podcast #120 with Rebecca Goldstein and Max Tegmark.  Sam starts off by saying that before the show, Rebecca sent an email to Sam about possible topics to discuss.  Sam describes this email as clear roadmap of what he actually wants to think deeply about for the next 10 years.  I can imagine that those topics involve consciousness, free will, and truth and what is knowable.  Heavy stuff that he’s been focused on.

Doug Hofstadter would be the perfect guest to explore such topics.

I’d like to hear more about the simulation theory. I’m not sure who the current leading experts are on the theory, but Neil deGrasse Tyson and Elon Musk have talked about it, Rizwan Virk, and of course, Nick Bostrum.

Daniel Schmachtenberger on sense making. Which is very very actual in this time. More specifically what’s wrong with how people today makes sense of the world. I was introduced to Daniel through Rebel Wisdom and found his clarity and intellect to be of superb quality.

For anyone interested in his views on sense making feel free to listen to below link to his interview with Rebel Wisdom.

Cheers and have a good day!

Richard Wolff: Economics Professor, author and host of podcast: Economic Update [EU]  Richard is an advocate of Socialism.

Also as an interesting experiment Sam could interview the Board of Directors of a Community Land Trusts as he reveals the social impact that the C.L.T. has on the world.

James Lyndsay, Helen Pluckrose, Peter Boghossian… or any combination thereof.

Would be interesting to get Jordan Peterson back, but on different topics… if that is possible.

Charles Eisenstein!  I see he’s been suggested already, but I want to add my vote.  So many areas of overlapping interest, and undoubtedly disagreements as well, it would make for a really interesting conversation.
