Me noticed that too.

It feels like I’ve just driven down a one way street that has just turned into a cul-de-sac. It’s private but let’s hope it doesn’t get too lonely.

Yesterday I was feeling like Good Night Moon:  “Good night GAD; good night NL; good night Nhoj; good night Burt; good night Jan…et al.  Whew, glad we’re still here.

This place looks the same, but we are no longer directly connected to Sam’s new web page.  How do outsiders find it?

From Sam’s new web site:

Forum Users

Unfortunately, there was no practical way to migrate the content of the forum to the new site. However, we plan to keep the forum alive so you can continue your conversations and debates there. The forum is now located at forum.samharris.org. It will still accept new accounts, but forum accounts, both new and existing, will not be connected to SamHarris.org.

Yeah ... I don’t think any of us are ready to say ‘goodnight’.

Where are Jefe ... and LadyJane ... and no_profundia ... et al.  Please check in and post something so we know you’re not lost.

(And though Dennis is no longer posting, I hope he knows where to find his old friends.)

Jefe and LJ were skyped and emailed. Dennis’s came back as a mailor-deamon. I thought it was current.

Folks have been sending me their email address for next time.

Of course there will be a next time. We’ve known that since last time.

Thanks Nhoj.  I will send you my e-mail address and hopefully others will too.

Great description! I dub that worthy of some kind of award.

I wonder exactly what “will not be connected to SamHarris.org” means. It seems obvious, but that doesn’t mean the apparently obvious is correct. I’m also curious as to why—same followup comment applies. Not that I have any problem with it, or any inclination to form an opinion ... or any expectation of an answer. Just idle curiosity.

Although I think I’d be inclined to do the same thing were I ultimately responsible for this freak show ... heh.

And now I see Cheshire Cat is logged in ... another lost sheep returned to our fold.

(I feel a need to count heads and see who’s still missing ... maybe we need a buddy system.)

Hi all, just reporting in.

You are sweet Jan.

Some of us have been through this before when we woke one morning up to find that Project Reason had disappeared, as you will have gathered. It had the feeling like some great natural or man made disaster had occurred and everyone was rallying round to see who was still alive. Nhoj put out an emergency broadcast from his website which helped and, as we had some warning, bberren set up another website which some of us used as a liferaft until we were able to get back together (thank you Nhoj and bberren). When this latest disappearance happened I just went straight to Nhoj’s website where he had put a post up and was immediately reassured.

I’ve become a bit of a lurker here in recent months - more interested in listening than talking, but I do come on every day. I should post more really so people know I’m still part of the group.

Nhoj, don’t you have all our emails, since you’re a moderator, and all our emails are part of the system?  (You can tell I’m not a techie…)

Same as you we can only guess at it I think.

Is it about donations? Maybe!?

Separating us from the main site keeps our forum free, could be?

I just don’t know man…

The admin pay-grade is limited in its access. We cannot see login info, passwords or emails.

The site’s main page has a link with very tiny letters at the very bottom of the page that says forum. It leads here. It expresses, “Yes, we have a forum, but we don’t want to brag about it”.
