In the book, Sam said something along the lines, “If it’s okay to use force in self-defense, it’s okay to lie in self-defense.” Are there other situations in which Sam thinks it’s okay to lie?

An article of mine about justified lying and The Gospel of John just passed peer review and was published online by The Secular Web,  a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization dedicated to defending and promoting a naturalistic worldview.  I’d love to hear what others think about the article.  It’s here: https://infidels.org/library/modern/john_macdonald/justified-lie.html

Pinning your article to give it a full read, but I liked what I skimmed.  I was particularly piqued by reference to Mendez in opening, that I gave his paper a quick skim too.  Very interesting stuff.

That’s great, w-buffalo.  Do let me know what you think.  Any feedback (pro; con; next steps; etc) would be really appreciated!
