I think this is a clever visualization of the branches of Islam. See how small some of them are, such as the Wahabi twig and Taliban splinter.

Beautiful website.

The page on global warming is truly frightening.

Yes!!

I like the graphics breaking down the true/false percentage of those “based on a true story” blockbusters.

The Wahhabi may be a twig and the Taliban a splinter on this visualization, but the more robust tree arms denoting the 4 schools of Sunni Islam—Hanbali, Hanafi, Shafi, and Maliki all teach offensive jihad against the unbeliever and death to the apostate (among other ghoulishly grisly things), and as the figure implies (correctly), 99% of Sunnis are “orthodox” (since it shows 1% being “unorthodox”) which means they follow one of the 4 schools.  The Wahhabi “twig” is a twig off of the Shafi school; it’s not going against Shafi tenets, else it would be branded as unorthodox, apostate.  Ditto for the Taliban, an offshoot of the Deobandi interpretation of the Hanafi school.  Have any Hanafi Ulema declared the Taliban apostate?
