I was unable to view (’video is not available in your region due to rights restrictions’) this link.  However, I saw this episode of Nova the other night on TV; it was truly amazing.  Must be seen to be appreciated.

I only caught about 15 minutes of it, but yes, it was amazing.

Most of the inventions and discoveries in this complex folding process are based on observations from nature; solutions nature has already evolved. It was pretty amazing how that one fellow reproduced the folding wing of a beetle with paper.

Science is always riding on the coattails of nature.

A self-assembling robot?  https://www.popsci.com/article/science/robots-retinas-9-amazing-origami-applications#page-2

Very cool.

(Now, it they’d only start making self-assembling flat-pack furniture, think of how much frustration and swearing could be avoided.)

Remember trying to get your tent up before the rain?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy5-YkR6byg

Next, one that will get itself back in the bag while you’re having breakfast?  Aim a clicker at it from the campfire?
