These type of evangelists are deluded and disgusting on so many levels.

If I believed in the devil, he would act and sound like an evangelist.

The bible indicates that Jesus was anti-establishment (likely not a Republican), cared about the persecuted and downtrodden, and liked and respected women.

And he stayed away from politics.

This is exactly the type of church I was raised in. Any kind of family drama or discord was always the woman’s fault. Even if it was obvious that she was being beaten.

What about separation of church and state?

Exactly. Yet there was Senator Kennedy asking Kavanaugh point blank, “Do you believe in God”? I was left wondering what would the reaction be if a nominee had answered “no.” Can you imagine the clutching of pearls that would have taken place? I’m pretty sure a bold and public statement of non-belief (by any nominee) would mean instant disqualification from the Supreme Court. Which tells us how commingled church and state really are.

Speaking of church and state, now Pat Robertson prays that God Will ‘Throw Confusion’ into Kavanaugh’s Accusers:

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/pat-robertson-prays-that-god-will-throw-confusion-into-kavanaughs-accusers/
(There’s also a video in the link)

Televangelist Pat Robertson kicked off his “700 Club” program today by praying that God will “throw confusion” into those who are accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault and misconduct.

“The Supreme Court of the United States is the power center of the liberal left,” he said. “They have done their bidding for years and years and years, and now comes a decisive moment as to whether they will lose control of that particular body and they are putting an all-out assault to destroy the reputation of one of the finest judges in America. It is a pre-planned plot, it is unbelievable, and if anybody buys it, they’d be willing to buy the story of the Great Pumpkin and any other myth that you can think of.”

Robertson then asked his viewers to join him in a “special prayer” as the Senate prepared to hear testimony this morning from Christine Blasey Ford, who claims to have been sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh when both were in high school.

“Throw confusion into those who are bringing false accusations against a future Supreme Court judge,” Robertson prayed. “Father, even as David said, ‘Throw confusion into the counsel of Ahitophel,’ we pray that, somehow, the Holy Spirit of God will throw confusion into the counsel of these myriad accusers who are coming forth against a good man who can serve honorably for decades to come in the Supreme Court. Lord, do it. We pray in the name of Jesus, throw confusion into their counsel. Thank you, Lord. Amen.”

If you think about this, why would God be onboard with “confusion”? Shouldn’t “clarity” and “honesty” be the thing prayed for? Wouldn’t Pat want the truth - whatever it is? How can truth arise out of confusion? What a self-righteous charlatan hack Robertson is!

And I’m sure the irony of this statement will be evident to everyone here…

That sounds like impeding a FBI investigation.

Well, it would only be impeding an FBI investigation if prayer worked. But it doesn’t. So Robertson is only guilty of being a political hack, a religious extremist, and a douche bag.
