Popularity should not be a shield to the truth. If the allegations are true, he should face justice. If they are found to be untrue, he should be acquitted and hopefully social repercussions will be minimized by his acquittal.

So your best guess is that he may or may not survive? (Not literally survive, of course.)

The Court of the Internet is pretty harsh.
I don’t know if he will survive the allegations, but if he is found guilty, he’ll be hung out to dry, and if he is found innocent, he may still be hung out to dry.
We’re all just star dust and ashes. And sexually inappropriate and unwanted sexual behavior .
There was zero data in that to know or say anything.

He said she said = no corroborating OR exculpatory evidence.
He admitted his behavior in the article. I see nothing criminal or that could form the basis of a law suit. He’s not an elected official or a priest. I say he survives, while some will call him creepy.
I think he should be demoted to a dwarf astrophysicist.

Ha! Pluto DeGrasse Tyson.
Yeah. He will be fine. Sadly he will probably gain a certain following for bad reasons.
I was disturbed by the part involving the tattoo. I think Tyson was definitely in the wrong in that circumstance even considering his account in isolation. Not knowing the man personally I suspect he probably did take certain inappropriate liberties by virtue of the leverage of his circumstance. I appreciate that he took the time to explain. I think think that sets a good example and shows us a way forward.
Overall, I think these more marginal cases are important for the process of re-adjusting and re-evaluating our norms. I don’t like hearing these concerns dismissed. I think it’s really important to carefully consider that a lot of what we take for granted as proper social behavior may be problematic.

What he wrote. “Investigating allegations” means only that. This looks more like a hit piece to discredit a political adversary.

Based on that seems like the first one wants attention and the the latter one went the the jancan school of poor women.

Probably. But the herb affect on this one is high. NDT might be hidding behind his douchnozzleness.

Could be, but for now we only know his side. If the first woman was at a book signing with a crowd I’ll call bullshit on her claim and if second woman claims she felt she had to say yes to wine and cheese because he was famous I’ll call bullshit as well.

Whatever the case I’m not going to believe it just because they said it out loud. NDT is way too easy of a target for a false claim snowball. The sleeveless tattoo lady sounds suspect.
Nevetheless, and maybe this is just my bias, but he seems like the type of guy that would like to get a little extra fucky fucky if the circumstances were juuuussst right. In at least one narrative he’s just some ugly nerd who got famous and probably couldn’t ever fathom getting free good consensual pus beforehand.
