I was listening to Lawrence Lessing on Joe Rohan, he mentioned that the first bill for the house in the next session is supposed to have some anti-corruption aspects https://www.npr.org/2018/11/12/665635832/democrats-say-their-first-bill-will-focus-on-strengthening-democracy-at-home

Maybe something useful will come out of this.

That bill is atrocious. I hope it never becomes law, certainly not as-is. It’s a vague legal minefield and I get the impression its only purpose will be as a political weapon to be used at opportune moments and ignored most of the time.

I’m not sure I’d say “weapon”, but to me it’s purpose is to begin to shift the conversation. Kind of a ask for a pony if you want a dog strategy.
