There was more gun control legislation passed in 2018 than in any previous year that I can personally remember. Without debating the wisdom of this does anyone else find it comical that it would happen under the Trump administration? After eight years of absurd conspiracy theories that Obama would be confiscating firearms and locking Christians into cages?

I see it as not really related to who is in the White House.  The bills passed were at the State level, not the National level.  There was a bit of action (mostly lip service) from the White House and Congress:

By the way, it is not strictly correct to say that bump stocks were approved under Obama:

According to the article, “legal experts stressed that it wasn’t an approval, but rather a determination that current law didn’t allow for its regulation.”

Oh, I’m not offering any sophisticated analysis or explanation. I don’t suggest its related in any causative way to the presidency. I just find it comical in light of the popular gun culture. A bit of schadenfreude on my part.
