For fun and the possibility of mutual interest, not discussion per se, I thought it might be interesting to know what forum participants like to read, or are currently reading.  So, here’s a thread to that effect.

Right now I’m reading:

Love Your Enemies, by Arthur Brooks
How Emotions are Made, by Lisa Barrett
Jack London’s The Sea Wolf
Patrick O’Brian’s The Commodore

I’d be interested in what others like to read, or are reading now…

The Mueller Report.

I’m a third of way in. It often zips along. It is a rare blended daiquiri. As if Hemingway and Joyce collaborated on Lord of the Flies.

Happy Day!  Patricia Churchland’s Conscience: The Origins of Moral Intuition just rang the door bell.  It’s next.

Just finished Tamler Sommers, Why Honor Matters, Dennett’s Breaking the Spell (a re-read), and Eagleman’s Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain.

Also various canon works in philosophy, on religion.

Next - The Enigma of Reason

That was a great read. If the purpose of reason is to help humans arrive at correct conclusions about reality, then why do humans reason so poorly? That’s the enigma of reason.

Me, I’m reading The Complete Short Stories of Mark Twain. If only Twain could be raised from the dead to comment on today’s political theater. (If only Mozart could be raised from the dead to compose music for modern instruments.)

You guys talked about it on several threads so I bought it.

I think Bach would be very happy with these guys - a whole crew emulating a single pipe organ:

electric bach
