quote:
“Between the gods and mortal men and women there hung a veil and its name was maya. The truth was that the fabled world of the gods was the real one, while the supposedly actual world inhabited by human beings was an illusion, and maya the veil of illusion, was the magic by which the gods persuaded men and women that their illusory world was real.” - Salman Rushdie
Is Rushdie referring to the ‘reality’ of quantum mechanics, (maya) and how human consciousness spins it into our ‘actual world’ - our everyday existence?
(Rushdie quoted from ‘THE LITTLE KING’, a short story in the July 29 New Yorker Magazine.) https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/07/29/the-little-king

Welcome to the forum. I need to look at this story again. Is there a term for phrases like, ‘the reality of quantum mechanics’?
