This web site can read your mind.  Pick a card and click to have your card removed.  The site’s author claims a 98% rate of accuracy in predicting your chosen card.

I have solved the mystery.  If you solve it, PM me your answer, don’t wreck it for the others by posting it publicly.

Me too - I sent you a PM.  I wonder who else is as clever as us?

Solved it several years ago when it first came out.

The comments on the explanation page are depressing. Someone lied about their results.

The trick is interesting for what it is. Actual claims of mind-reading are silly. A contestant need only muster a 2 on The Malarkey Scale to figure it out. Why not make a lesson about how info can control our attention instead of deceptive claim of ESP? Which choice could make the world a better place? Can you read my mind?

Was it an actual attempt at deception, or meant as an amusing way of showing that such claims are simple tricks easily detected with a marlarkey filter?

Since the comments do not include any contestants who correctly explain it, I would call it deliberate.

‘Filter’ better describes the trick’s instructions. Scoring on the scale is a task of reasoning unchecked by filters. Just sayin’.

You got it.

The test is an exercise in patience, observation, and the power of suggestion.  I admit I was a bit shocked to see my card chosen for removal, but gave another look and confirmed why.

I am glad none were fooled, or quickly figured it out.  Give ourselves a pat on the back.

It didn’t work on me because I viewed the cards logically as pairs, that made it easy to figure out.

Hated seeing this right before going to bed.  Took me a bit, but figured it out.  Fun puzzle.

This is not about a problem or puzzle to solve. As was pointed out, it is so easy, it is stupid.

However, it does serve a purpose about consequences of making unchecked assumptions as your assumptions are your windows on the world. You should learn to challenge your own assumptions like Kavanaugh is a rapist and Trump is guilty of treason simply because you are willing to hand over your brain, your soul just to be part of a groupthink.

This is a derail. This is the forum funway. You are a killjoy devoted to a slime bucket, so go to another thread.

Sure.  The answer is there are different sets of cards for the second set.

It is a fun reminder to check your focus, as Celal wrote, until he went to the gutter of politics.
