Yeah, same old, same old.

Make renewable energy and the cutting of greenhouse gases into a divisive culture war topic to distract and confuse, while maintaining the status quo and profits of the oil companies.

I wish it wasn’t all so predictable.

yup, oligarchs are predictable.

What does it mean to be American?  For 63 million Americans, it means supporting and voting for a racially divisive president.  https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/17/politics/donald-trump-race-america-democrats/index.html

Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 by 3 million votes.  What do 3 million people look like?  50 sports stadiums each filled with 60,000 voters.

Trump won, fair and square, period, stop living in denial and stop whining about it.

It’s still interesting to contemplate 50 stadiums each filled with 60,000 voters.

“In 2016, 70,000 votes in three critical states tipped the election to Mr. Trump: Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. These votes ended up being more consequential than the 3 million more cast for Clinton, because they gave Mr. Trump the electoral votes he needed to win the election.”

What does it mean to be an American?

To be an American in the Ronald Reagan, ‘Shining City on a Hill’ sense of the word means that you have to be able to ignore or be ignorant of U.S. history.

Even if our schools teach a whitewashed version of U.S. history, at least we live in a country where historians are still free to uncover the truth and, like dinosaur hunters, assemble the evidence in museums for all to see.

Luke 18:9-14 -  The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:  “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.  The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.  I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
