I sincerely hope y’all are doing well!

Crowder is voicing what I’m feeling at this point -

I’m tired of the fear in society, and the unreasonable actions of some of the state governments.  One’s liberty shouldn’t end where another’s fear begins.

First one to blame Trump in any fashion here gets a TDS medal :-)

But not that far off the mark for today’s right wing evangelicals.

Ah!  I guess I haven’t observed long enough to know his sarcasm.

If you object to lock-downs and shelter in place orders, you really don’t understand the virus issue.
If you feel your freedom to ignore these is more important that your responsibility to your fellow citizens and their health, then you cannot really claim to value human life.  If your idea of the economy re-opening includes ideas like getting haircuts and going to restaurants and movies and such, you value your entertainment over the peril imposed upon others by your desire to congregate with the public.

Until/unless there is an effective immunization against Covid-19, every single public location that people go to congregate is arguably one contagious carrier away from an outbreak.  Science tells us that time+exposure vastly increases our chances of contracting the virus.  History tells us that moving too quickly will cause more deaths and more economic damage.  And common sense tells us that wearing masks in public significantly reduces the chance of person-to-person contraction via casual cough, sneeze or other expectoration.

If you find any of these measures to be too restrictive, you are probably part of a problem that the US will have in containing and mitigating the effects of the virus in both lives lost and economic costs.

As you say, your freedom to spread covid-19 ends where another’s freedom to not contract it via your irresponsible choices begins.

Somehow I doubt your sincerity. My fear is rational. I hope to continue doing well, at least Acovid, by not coming into physical proximity with you

“If you object to lock-downs and shelter in place orders, you really don’t understand the virus issue.”

Why is it my responsibility to make sure that the high-risk folks are safe and secure?  I would reasonably assume that they are used to being cautious of other common sicknesses.  Why am I suddenly the enemy here?  When H1N1 hit the U.S., I wasn’t “ignoring science.”  Why am I now?

“Until/unless there is an effective immunization against Covid-19, every single public location that people go to congregate is arguably one contagious carrier away from an outbreak.  Science tells us that time+exposure vastly increases our chances of contracting the virus.”

Are we to simply adopt a “shelter in place” lifestyle?  How long will it take for a vaccine to be produced?  You’re willing to shelter in place indefinitely?

“If you find any of these measures to be too restrictive, you are probably part of a problem that the US will have in containing and mitigating the effects of the virus in both lives lost and economic costs.”

Again, you’re unjustly making me the enemy.  Am I also part of the problem because I go to work?  Is my state the enemy because it chooses to lift the lockdown measures?

“As you say, your freedom to spread covid-19 ends where another’s freedom to not contract it via your irresponsible choices begins.”

If they don’t want to contract it, they have the freedom to stay home.  Their fear over contracting it doesn’t end my freedom to go out into the world and mind my business.

From all of the recent events I’ve seen happen, I will confidently assert that the U.S. has trouble ahead, but I’m not referring to the kind of trouble that SARS COV 2 can cause in the human body.

I don’t come to this forum to make enemies, and I don’t come here to wish harm on others.  I come here to reason with people.

You’re free to doubt my sincerity, but know that your doubt doesn’t negate the truth.  I sincerely hope that you are doing well!  Please don’t take my opposition to fear and leftism as malice.

You’re free to stay away from others.  That’s probably the best course of action if you fear infection.

I have no problem with labels, but I do want to make sure they’re correct before I accept them.

Playing dumb doesn’t really work for a biblical literalist who has already demonstrated that being dumb is his natural state.

Whether I’m dumb or not, what does “evangelical” mean to you?
