A 31-year-old female driver who has not been named reportedly told police she was letting ‘God take the wheel’ after she crashed into two cars and a house
The woman sped through a red light in Beachwood, Ohio on June 15, crashing into another car that seemed to obey traffic laws
Parts of the hood and glass flew off the vehicle she struck as the woman continued to drive, losing control of her car
It crashed into a utility pole and another vehicle in the driveway of a home, ultimately striking the house itself
Afterwards, the woman allegedly said she had intentionally run the red light to test her faith during a difficult time in her life
Her 11-year-old daughter, who was in the front passenger seat, was sent to the hospital for head injuries
She reportedly said she had been going through ‘trials and tribulations,’ having been recently fired from her job, so she decided to ‘let go and let God take the wheel.’
She believed she had done the right thing, News 10 reports, even though her 11-year-old daughter, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was taken to a local hospital with head injuries.
Did God reward her faith in Him? No one was killed or seriously injured. Although, “She could face charges including felony assault, endangering a child, reckless operation and driving under suspension.”
They don’t say what kind of job she had or why she was fired, or why she’d had her license suspended. Maybe her job entailed driving and she got fired after her license was suspended.
God really could use a few driving lessons. And he’s quite a leadfoot.
Kidding aside, this is the story of a sad, mentally ill woman attempting a quasi-suicide.
I hope the authorities put her child under protective services.
I heard Jesus drives a “Christler.”
Too bad this guy wasn’t still around…they’d have made the perfect couple.
