An anti-vaxxer website which scrapes and misrepresents data from a government-run database has been spreading misinformation like wildfire through anti-vax communities for the last month. Now for the first time, the identity of the woman running the site has been revealed.

OpenVAERS, a site set up in early 2021 to spread vaccine misinformation by misusing federal data, is being operated by Liz Willner, 55, who lives in the wealthy enclave of Piedmont, a community completely surrounded by Oakland, California, according to new research conducted by AI-powered misinformation tracking group Logically, and shared exclusively with VICE News.

Liz lives about three miles from me, and her town of Piedmont is small by regional standards.  It shouldn’t be too difficult to find her and ask her some more questions.

I read the article. I kept looking for some financial gain that Liz would be getting from all this, but evidently there isn’t.

She must be well aware that she’s taking information out of context and skewing the information to suit her narrative.

So what’s her motive for doing this? Why encourage people not to get vaccinated? Why leave them vulnerable to sickness and possibly death? Why encourage spreading a disease?

Is she mentally ill? Does she crave the attention? Is she supporting her tribe of conspiracy nuts, being a big fish in a little pond?

I don’t understand people like this.

Some facts:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html

More than 351 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through August 9, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 6,631 reports of death (0.0019%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause.

United States
All regions
Cases: 36.6M

Deaths: 621K

1.697% fatality (Not including long term health effects…)

The vaccines are over 2 orders of magnitude better and safer than the virus.  Full stop.

Many anti-vaxxers have ties to alt-meds.  The original AV doctor, Wakefield, was receiving money from alternative med companies while he was falsifying research data.  It’s possible this person has similar ties, but that’s speculation - unless evidence comes to light.

Some facts:

Cases: 36.6M

Deaths: 621K

0.01697% fatality rate (Not including long term health effects…)

1.697% fatality for COVID (or .01697 fatality), not .01697%

The vaccine fatality rate is around 0.00534%.  That’s over 2 orders of magnitude lower.

Thanks for correcting my faulty math.  Even better.

This reminds me of politicians who had no problem sending other people’s kids off to Vietnam while ensuring theirs were safely registered in university or on an extended trip to Canada.  Will the same folks spreading disinformation about vaccines be sending their own children to elementary school without masks?  I doubt it.  It’s amazing how absolutely certain people can be, anonymously, as long as they never have to explain it to anybody ever.  That’s the sacrificial scam.

Reasons not to vaccinate:
1. Experts can’t be trusted
2, Authorities can’t be trusted
3. The FDA hasn’t fully approved it
4. I’m not a sheeple
5. The vaccine is far more dangerous than the disease
6. I don’t know anyone who has gotten sick or died of COVID, so it’s not real, so there’s no need to vaccinate
7. I’m strong and healthy
8. I’m pretty sure I had COVID and I’ve had colds worse than it
9. My pastor said to keep my body pure
10. I don’t know what’s in the vaccine
11. COVID is a liberal scare tactic to hurt Trump’s re-election
12. My body, my choice
13. Even vaccinated people spread the virus
14. My cousin said he heard from this guy who said he’s been taking a mixture of crushed garlic and fresh lemon juice since the pandemic began and he hasn’t gotten COVID
15. My chiropractor adjusted my back to fight off the virus
16. Jenny McCarthy said. . .
17. The fatality rate of COVID is so low, somewhere less than 2%, so the vaccine won’t make any difference.
18. The number of break-through infections is higher than the fatality rate, so the vaccine doesn’t make a difference
19. I’ve done the reasesrch on the internet and nothing about the effectiveness of the vaccine makes sense
20. Big Pharma manufactured the disease to sell their vaccine and get rich
21. I know where to get a fake vaccination card for $20 (although the card and shot are free)

22. I saw someone on the Internet who had a bad reaction after taking the vaccine.

So, I’m not going to drive my car anymore because I saw a bad wreck on the Internet where some people got killed.
