Well, Kelvin starts at absolute zero. Celsius is based on the freezing/boiling point of water. And Fahrenheit is based on the not-dead scale. But, it’s a subjective American (esp. Californian & Texan?) not-dead scale; Northern people tend to melt at 100F and 0F is more like ‘somewhat cool’.
